CCTV and access control installation in Dubai

Cameras and door access for offices, built on a network designed to carry them, with the regulated installation handled by a SIRA-approved partner.

Quick answer

CCTV installation in Dubai is regulated: commercial systems fall under SIRA, so the regulated installation and approval go through a SIRA-approved contractor. Listonics works with a SIRA-approved partner. We design and build the network the cameras and door controllers run on, keep them separated from your business systems, and hand over full documentation. Projects run from AED 2,500 to AED 30,000 depending on requirement.

Best team I’ve ever hired. All in one place.

As a construction company, we have a lot to manage, so finding one team that can handle our IT and digital requirements has been really helpful. Listonics has supported us with office networking, cybersecurity, website development and SEO. Their team knows what they’re doing and has been easy to work with. We no longer need to coordinate with different companies for every requirement, which saves us time and effort. Overall, it’s been a good experience, and we’re happy to have them supporting our business.

We needed a custom ERP and HR system…

We needed a custom ERP and HR system for our business, along with a new website, and Listonics helped us with all three. The team was approachable, listened to what we wanted and made the process easier than we expected. We could discuss changes directly with them, which made a big difference. It was also convenient having one team handle everything instead of dealing with multiple companies. Overall, we’re happy with how things turned out and glad we chose them.

Why does CCTV in Dubai need a SIRA-approved installer?

In Dubai, security systems at commercial premises, including CCTV, fall under the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA). In practice that means the regulated parts of the job, the installation and the approval of the system, are carried out through a contractor SIRA has approved. A camera system put in by someone without that approval can leave the business facing rework.

We say this plainly because it is the first question to ask any CCTV company in Dubai. The requirements for your type of premises are set by SIRA, so confirm them with SIRA or with the approved contractor before work starts, rather than relying on a summary.

How do Listonics and our SIRA-approved partner split the work?

Each side does the part it is qualified for, and you get one plan and one point of contact. Listonics is responsible for everything the system depends on to work reliably and safely as part of your office network. Our SIRA-approved partner carries out the regulated installation and the approval steps.

This matters more than it sounds. Many camera problems in offices are not camera problems at all: a switch that cannot power the last few cameras, a recorder on the same network as the accounts machine, or a door controller nobody can log into two years later. Those are network problems, and they are the part we build.

Why should cameras and door controllers sit on their own network?

Cameras and door controllers are small computers, and many ship with default passwords and software that is rarely updated. Put them on the same flat network as your file server and laptops, and one weak device becomes a route into the business.

We put them on a separate network segment with rules about what they can reach, so the recorder can store footage and authorised staff can view it, but a camera cannot talk to your accounts system. Our IoT and connected devices service applies the same approach to sensors and other devices, and our guide to network security for small businesses explains the principle.

What goes into the cabling and power?

Most office cameras and many door readers are powered over the network cable itself, which keeps installation tidy but needs a switch with enough power budget for every device at once. Choosing a switch on port count alone is the most common reason the last few cameras keep rebooting.

Every device gets a tested, labelled cable run, and the switch is sized for the full load with spare capacity for the cameras you will add later. Where new cabling is needed across the office, our structured cabling team installs and certifies it.

  • A cable run to every camera and door reader position, tested and labelled.
  • A switch with enough power for every device, plus room to grow.
  • Recorder storage sized for how long you need to keep footage.
  • A clear plan for what each door does when the power fails.

What is included, and what is not?

Included: the site visit, the network design, cabling and power, the separate network segment, secure remote viewing for named staff, coordination with our SIRA-approved partner for the regulated installation, and a handover with every device, password and location written down.

Not included: we are not a monitoring company or a guarding company. Nobody at Listonics watches your cameras or responds to alarms. If you need a monitored service, that is a licensed security provider's job, and we will say so rather than let a camera system be mistaken for one.

How a CCTV and access control project runs

The order is the same every time, so you know what happens next and nothing is installed before the plan is agreed.

  • Site visit: camera and door positions, cable routes, power and where the recorder lives.
  • Written scope and fixed price, showing which parts our SIRA-approved partner handles.
  • Cabling, power and network segment built and tested.
  • Regulated installation and approval completed through our SIRA-approved partner.
  • Handover: remote viewing tested, documentation and passwords given to you.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the number of cameras and doors, the cabling the building needs and how long footage must be kept. Listonics projects run from AED 2,500 to AED 30,000 depending on requirement, quoted as a fixed scope after a site visit. The quote shows the hardware, the network work and the SIRA-regulated part as separate lines.

Listonics works with a SIRA-approved partner, who carries out the regulated installation and approval. Usually, yes. Most office doors can take a reader and an electric lock, but the right hardware depends on the door, the frame and what should happen in a power cut or fire. We check each door on the site visit and agree its behaviour with you before anything is ordered, rather than discovering it during the first outage.

Yes, for named staff, set up securely. Remote viewing is configured through a protected route rather than by opening the recorder directly to the internet, which is how many camera systems end up exposed. Each person gets their own login, and access can be removed when someone leaves.

No. We build the system and make sure footage is recorded, stored and viewable by the right people. Watching cameras and responding to alarms is licensed security work, so if you need a monitored service it should come from a licensed security provider. We are happy to work alongside one.
